Build your directions QR

Use either a pasted map link or a typed address—not both at once. If the link box has text, we use that as the QR destination and skip the address builder.

Step 1 — Where should the scan go?

I already have a map link

Paste the full URL from Google Maps, Apple Maps on the web, or any page you want opened after the scan.

If this field is filled, the address section below is not used for the QR.

I will type an address

Leave the map URL box empty above. Fill in enough detail that someone could find the place—we combine it into one Google Maps search link.

Step 2 — What to show on your sign (optional)

These fields only affect the preview labels and optional print design—they do not change the map link inside the QR.

Adds a print-friendly header and colors to the PNG instead of only the QR square.

Customize the card layout (optional)

This page does not show a live map—it only turns your link or address into a QR image you can print.

Scan for directions

Your map destination URL appears here after generation.

Test from different phones and physical positions before printing signs.

How to use this QR code

  1. Choose your source. Paste a live map/directions URL, or type your address details.
  2. Generate and test. Scan the QR from your phone and confirm it opens the right map destination.
  3. Download the PNG. Add it to signs for entrances, service counters, event booths, and pickup zones.
  4. Regenerate when location links change. If your destination URL changes, make a new QR and replace prints.

Who this tool is for, and how to get the most from it

Practical reference for a directions / map QR.

Who this is for

Storefronts inside malls, plazas, or office complexes where the entrance isn't obvious. Pop-up vendors and farmers' market booths. Event venues, weddings, and trade-show booths. Any business whose customers regularly say "I had trouble finding you."

When to use it

Best on flyers, business cards, social-media graphics, and outside signage. Customers scan and the phone opens turn-by-turn directions in their preferred maps app. Pair with a brief "We're here" line so people know what they're scanning.

Print & display tips

Print at 3 cm (1.2 in) for handouts and 5-7 cm (2-3 in) for window signs. Make sure the address you encode matches the entrance you actually want customers to use—not the parking lot or back door. For pop-up booths, refresh the QR each event with the new venue.

Common mistakes to avoid

Don't encode an address that doesn't match your Google Business Profile pin—customers will end up at the wrong door. Don't use coordinates without testing on a real phone first. Always test the link by scanning it from outside the building and following the directions yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste a Google Maps link directly?

Yes. If you paste a valid web URL for Google Maps (or another map destination), we encode that URL directly in the QR.

What if I do not have a map URL yet?

Leave the map URL blank and enter your address details. We build a Google Maps search URL from those fields.

Does this host or embed a map?

No. This tool only creates a QR code that opens your map or directions link. It does not host maps itself.

Can I use this for pop-ups, booths, and temporary pickup points?

Yes. Many teams use this for temporary event/vendor locations where a direct “find us” scan saves time.
